APPA Primary Education Summit

In 2025, APPA convened the inaugural Primary Education Summit.

School, community, and service leaders from across Australia gathered at APH in Canberra, to explore one of the most critical challenges of our time:

The Economic and Moral Imperative of Investing in Primary and Early Education.

Framed by the goals of Australian schooling as outlined in the *Mparntwe Declaration, this provocation called for bold and forward-thinking leadership.

The Summit acknowledged that:

  • Primary schools are at the heart of shaping confident, creative, and successful lifelong learners – yet, they are being asked to do more than ever before.
  • If we are to truly realise the vision of the *Mparntwe Declaration, we need courageous and transformative thinking.

A statement was issued on 6 June, 2025, following the Summit.
