Soapstream - Hand Hygiene Systems

The Soapstream concept is a Western Australian invention that the owner, Keith Gregory, has been developing for the past 10 years. With the advent of Swine flu and the Prime Minister coming on national television and saying that we needed to have our children wash their hands at school, Keith immediately saw that the system could be adapted to a water saving push tap and used in schools. The system has received a great deal of encouragement from many within the Health and Education departments who have seen it. It has also enjoyed strong support from the Australian Council of State School Organisations to have Soapstream installed into our schools.

It is "the innovative answer to one of those perennial problems that have been puzzling the minds of educators forever." Rupert Macgregor, Executive Director ACCSO

The World Health Organization and government experts around the world, as well as the Australian Prime Minister, all agree that there is a real need for children to wash their hands with soap and water. This need was exacerbated by the recent swine flu pandemic.

It is also agreed among Principals, educators, parents and health professionals that until now there is no one truly effective hand hygiene method or policy for all schools.

It is believed by many that the Soapstream Hand Hygiene System will go a long way towards solving this problem. The Soapstream Hand Hygiene System incorporates a water saving push tap with a soap dispenser. The dispenser swings easily into and out of the stream of running water, enabling hands to be washed with soap and then rinsed without transferring bacteria from one user to the next, as happens with traditional solid soap usage.

The Soapstream system will meet the needs of every school for a truly efficient hand hygiene system.
