Bullying. No way! - Website Resource & E-Bulletin
We received this notice recently:
"I write on behalf of the National Safe and Supportive School Communities: Finding workable solutions for countering bullying, harassment and violence in schools (SSSC) project and associated Bullying. No way! website (link above). I would like to introduce this project to you, and particularly the Bullying. No way! website - and to invite your organisation to raise awareness about the website among your members.
"The SSSC project has been initiated and supported by Australia's Conference of Education Systems Chief Executive Officers (CESCEO) and the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA) Student Learning and Support Services Taskforce. The project is governed by senior officials from Commonwealth, State and Territory government and Catholic and Independent education jurisdictions and is managed by Education Queensland.
"The SSSC project and Bullying. No way! website supports school staff, students and parents/carers in the ongoing task of creating safer, more inclusive school communities free from bullying, harassment, discrimination and violence. It emphasises the value of locally relevant and sustainable whole school approaches that addresses individual, environmental and psychological dimensions of behaviour, and brings into focus those social and cultural factors that shape identity and behaviour, such as racism, homophobia, gender-based harassment and discrimination on the basis of socio-economic status, ability and disability so that they too become susceptible to change.
"The Bullying. No way! website now features an e-bulletin, posted to subscribers on a monthly basis. The e-bulletin highlights useful resources and additions to the Bullying. No way! website, as well as what's happening around Australia's Government, Catholic and Independent education sectors. To sign up to receive this e-bulletin, please take the link from the Bullying. No way! homepage. The website is a source of useful ideas for positive classroom, whole school and community knowledge and action.
