L5 at Work - "Assertion 3. School leaders build the capacity of staff to develop, implement and evaluate a whole-school approach to Asia literacy.

To be successful, the school community needs to support and commit to developing Asia literacy in their school. With that shared vision behind you, as with the leader of any effective contemporary organisation, the school principal's task is to create an organisational culture that is collaborative, able to embrace change and that utilises the capacity of staff. A strong indicator of how successful school leadership has been in creating an effective teaching and learning culture is the presence of a shared vision. This vision describes where the school is going. It will underpin and inform strategic planning. It is owned by the community and not just by one person. Leading your school in engaging with Asia involves developing a vision and using a whole-school approach."
