GenerationOne ‘Hands Across Australia’ National Schools Competition

Australians are unified around a desire to ensure that this is the last generation to suffer Indigenous disparity. GenerationOne is the place for Australians to release their passion, in three main areas: education, jobs and job-ready training. GenerationOne is a real partnership for ALL Australians to participate in. It is non-partisan and will listen to any and all contributions that can help break the poverty traps, in our generation. GenerationOne provides the opportunity for those who are already active to do more, and for those who have never participated in a campaign to play a simple role in achieving real change.

We’re calling all teachers and students to be part of the generation for change. GenerationOne has partnered with the Australian School of Performing Arts to launch a great opportunity for you to raise awareness and end Indigenous disadvantage.

We’re holding a competition and invite every school in Australia to get involved. The national winner will receive an GenerationOne Education Award of $25,000 to undertake a project of their design that aims to raise awareness and reduce Indigenous disadvantage in their community. State and Territory finalists will win a one day performing arts workshop.

All you need to do is learn Hands Across Australia, the catchy GenerationOne theme song, and create a ‘video clip’ of your school performing it. It’s easy to learn, and all the resources you need are on our website: www.generationone.org.au. Schools need to also be creative in writing new lyrics for the rap section of the song and designing their project.
